The destination management organisation Tourismus Engadin Scuol Samnaun Val Müstair AG (TESSVM) supports sustainable tourism. As a region for holidays involving nature and culture, TESSVM promotes offers that not only preserve the landscape and cultural values but also further develop them carefully. The goal is for guests to experience these values. In the process, TESSMV strives for an occupancy rate distributed across the entire year. That makes it possible to create and secure year-round jobs and maintain the regional economic cycle. Accordingly, TESSVM understands sustainable tourism as ecological, economical and social sustainability. The holiday region Samnaun Val Müstair places the greatest value only on things that fulfil all three criteria. Careful usage of natural resources, climate protection and responsibility for social justice also define the company’s internal operations.
Culture Bus in Val Müstair
Simply on the move by public transport - In 2018, the Biosfera Val Müstair Nature Park and organisers of cultural events in Val Müstair launched the Culture Bus. In the pilot year, the Culture Bus brought 132 event visitors home. Thanks to the support of «Cause We Care», the bus will continue to operate in 2019, enabling visitors to attend cultural evening events without a private car.
One e-car for everyone
Since April 2019, the office of the Biosfera Val Müstair Nature Park in Tschierv has a BMWi3. To ensure that everyone benefits from the nature park's new electric car, it is rented out via the car-sharing platform Sharoo. In this way, Biosfera raises people's awareness for e-mobility and enables them to travel emission-free without their own car, even at off-peak times. The TESSVM supported the project with funds from the «Cause We Care» fund.
Supporting the Trash Hero trail clean-up in Scuol
Trash Hero Switzerland, Bergbahnen Scuol and 110 volunteers collected 56 kg of trash in the Motta Naluns ski area in 2023. The Trash Heroes found everything from cigarette butts to skis on the slopes. TESSVM supports the annual campaign in communication and with the yellow T-shirts.
Environmental activity and excursions in the Lower Engadine
Since 2021, interested guests can book the NatürActiva offer. This is an environmental activity in the Lower Engadine lasting several days, during which participants learn a lot about nature, landscape and agriculture and explore the region on varied excursions. In order to make this offer accessible to as many visitors as possible and to support environmental education, NatürActiva will be supported with funds from the "Cause We Care" fund from summer 2023.
