With a contribution of CHF 4 per person per night and CHF 1 per day's admission to "The Spa", the guests of Hotel Schweizerhof Bern are given the opportunity to invest the CO₂ emissions of their stay or experience in climate protection projects with myclimate and make a contribution to local sustainability. At the same time, the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern doubles these contributions and invests in its own sustainability. In this way, the guests achieve a double effect with their commitment.
The Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa has been a partner of myclimate since 2017. Guests have the possibility to offset the CO2 emissions of their overnight stay and thereby participate in the comprehensive commitment to sustainability. The hotel was distinguished in 2019 at the ITB by myclimate for its innovative and holistic commitment as a “forerunner of holistic sustainability in the hotel business”.
The Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa is committed to scientifically proven and effective climate protection. Among other things, the hotel’s internal environmental group “The Green Busters” was founded to address making the hotel more environmentally sound. With the help of the annual CO2 footprint analysis, the hotel continuously develops new projects to reduce internal CO2 emissions.
Thanks to a variety of measures, the Hotel Schweizerhof Bern & Spa has been able to reduce the emissions per overnight stay considerably in the past few years. To offset the remaining emissions, the hotel supports a high-quality myclimate carbon offset project in Madagascar. “Besides the climate-neutral overnight stays, we will now also offer climate-neutral spa entry fees as well as flat rates for meetings. It is very important to us to invest in climate protection and optimise internal resource efficiency in the hotel. Therefore, corporate social responsibility is an integral element of our company’s philosophy.
