To compensate for the CO₂ it emits, the festival selected two myclimate climate protection projects in Uganda and Nicaragua. Furthermore, the festival will also focus on environmentally and inhabitant-friendly travel to and from the festival for visitors and implement an extensive sustainability concept.

Since «Cause We Care» has been integrated into the festival, people who visit the ESAF 2019 will also have a chance to promote sustainability. By making a simple commitment, they can make double the impact: By donating their bottle deposits or purchasing merchandising products, they make an additional contribution to help nature and the climate through myclimate «Cause We Care». The money will be used to finance local and regional sustainability measures and support global climate protection projects.
