In 2020, 25 new businesses joined the myclimate «Cause We Care» initiative. This means that the carbon offset programme network now consists of more than 65 service providers in Swiss tourism.
Together with their guests, these businesses not only saved around 13’800 tonnes of CO2 through high-quality myclimate carbon offset projects in 2020 with around 635’000 climate-neutral bookings, but also jointly mobilised 1.73 million Swiss francs for local operational sustainability measures. Numerous locally implemented projects as well as two cross-destination sustainability funds show that the programme acts as a strong local innovation driver.
Interest in «Cause We Care» continues unabated in the current year. The latest programme members are the Ferrovia Monte Generoso including the associated camping site, the Seehotel Wilerbad on Lake Sarnen and the World Floorball Championships 2022 in Switzerland.
